Hello,I traveled all over Japan. When I travel domestically, I like hot springs and often stay at Japanese inns. This time I would like to introduce some recommended spots that I visited during my trip.
Do you know Hiraizumi? There are hot springs and a world heritage site. The World Heritage Site consists of five parts, including Chusonji Temple and Motsuji Temple.
I'm studying English. This article was written using a translation site. (Some parts are written by myself.) I apologize if there are any sentences that are difficult to read or if there are any mistakes.
What kind of place is Hiraizumi?
Hiraizumi has a world heritage site. It consists of several locations. If you want to know more, please check this site. You can read it in English.(Once you open the site, you will need to select English from the top right corner where it says Language.)
There are also ryokan with hot springs here. The food here was delicious and the hot springs were wonderful, so I highly recommend it.I will introduce the inn I stayed at later.
Before going to Hiraizumi
If you have time, please visit Miyagi Prefecture. Sendai City is located in Miyagi Prefecture and is famous for its beef tongue and zunda mochi.
After that, you should also visit Matsushima. It is one of the three scenic spots in Japan. You can enjoy the scenery on a sightseeing boat, there have temples and halls, and you can even eat oysters.Matsushima oysters are famous in Japan. Please note that it can only be eaten during the cold season.
Let’s go to Hiraizumi
First, go to the guidance center
Knowing the history of Hiraizumi will make your sightseeing even more enjoyable. Therefore, I recommend going to the “Iwate Prefectural Hiraizumi World Heritage Guidance Center”.It takes about 10 minutes on foot from the station. It’s a place that teaches you the history in an easy-to-understand way, so you can learn about Hiraizumi while having fun. Please click here for the site. You can also check it in English.
Next, go to World Heritage Sites
Please visit the two places I will introduce to you as much as possible.Motsuji and Chusonji.Motsuji Temple is a valuable place with a garden and the remains of a temple. The Golden Hall is the main attraction of Chusonji Temple. Its beauty is overwhelming. There is an admission fee for both, but I felt it was worth the money.I will post the websites of Chusonji and Motsuji. You can also check this in English.
Ryokan 【Musashibo】
I stayed at a ryokan called Musashibo. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Hiraizumi Station.I chose the one night and half board plan and the food was very delicious. The meals are plentiful and you can get refills of rice. Also, the hot springs were amazing. This is my recommended place.I will post the website the Musashibo.this also written by English.
How to get to Hiraizumi
There are several ways to get to Hiraizumi.

Other means of transportation
The cheapest way to get there is to change buses. It is also possible to fly to Hanamaki Airport and then go by car.Of course, you can go there by car from Tokyo, but it will take time.
If you can stop by Ichinoseki…
If you have time to stop by a place called Ichinoseki, there is a restaurant I recommend. That is 【Kuramoto Restaurant Sekinoichi】.This is a sake brewery, so they also manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages. The recommended meal is Kahomochi. It seems like it has been eaten around here for a long time.Check out the photo below to see what it looks like!
